A legal disclaimer
Spectre Military Equipment Ltd is committed to you the customer, we aim to provide a service that you are both pleased with and feel safe doing again
Keeping your data safe and increasing transparency are important to us as well as being the law!
We are committed to the new GDPR (May 2018) enabling our online customers to benefit from the added privacy protections that this safeguard provides.
Privacy Policy - Security
Spectre Military Equipment Ltd take security very seriously and have taken various steps over and above the norm to protect your data and data transfer. We only store the necessary information needed to identify customers such as Name, address, delivery details plus the last four numbers of a credit card - purely for linking customers to orders, we do not store credit card details. The credit card details you enter during a transaction are encrypted (for further details see the SSL Secure section below). We are using a 256 bit encryption security system which at present is the highest security available for online payment data protection.
Transaction Security
All transaction information passed between our site and the SagePay System is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent to our servers from SagePay are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing passed to the SagePay servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.
Encryption and Data Storage
Once on the Protx systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the UK Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data held by Protx is extremely secure and Protx are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.
The only details we keep securely are details entered pertaining to your order/s from us. This information is stored to enable the ordering process and is kept confidential between the customer and Spectre Military Equipment Ltd.
Your security is our priority so we have gone to great lengths to protect you to ensure your shopping experience with us is absolutely safe.
Anti Fraud Checking
Our online shop utilises new anti fraud techniques that identify the most common types of fraudulent use of credit card details and will automatically prevent some orders from being made. This is to help protect both Spectre Military Equipment Ltd and credit card holders from misuse of their funds before the details of the transaction even get as far as Protx, who of course have their own set of anti fraud checks in place. With that said it is possible that some legitimate orders are rejected as a result, if that happens to you and you feel it was in error please contact us or telephone at support@spectremilitary.co.uk stating the exact problem you are experiencing.
